We are committed to closing the achievement gap for low-income children and families.
The Parent-Child Home Program
Our program (PCHP) provides low-income families the skills and materials they need to prepare their children for school and life success. Trained literacy specialist meet with families in their homes to model for parents how to be their child’s first teacher. Early learning has a positive impact on a child’s behavior and emotional well-being.
Who can take part
ASC’s Parent-Child Home Program is available to approximately 165 children annually, ages 2-4 in Southeast Seattle and Renton, Washington.
Schedule of Services
The PCHP model provides twice-weekly home visiting for thirty minutes over a two-year period to underserved families with children between the ages of 2 – 4 years. The program is offered October to June of each year.
