An integral part of our team, Teresa has been with ASC for over 20 years, moving from the ranks of direct service up to an essential administrative position. She has been a member of the resource development team since 2005, and served as Resource Development Officer until 2014. In 2019 Teresa received her Certificate of Completion in Fundraising Management from the University of Washington. Since 2021, Teresa has been serving as the Public Relations and Resource Development Director. Prior to joining ASC, she did direct service work for the YWCA, facilitating job searches for those in need. Teresa’s networking skills and glowing personality are familiar to everyone who passes through ASC, participants and donors alike. Veronica joined Atlantic Street Center in 2014 after moving to Seattle from New York City. She has supported ASC in the past few years by developing and implementing a billing system for its Behavioral Health program, as well as creating and updating policies and procedures. Veronica has also worked with some of ASC’s other programs to implement and support their use of database systems and supports numerous other administrative projects. She has exclusively focused her work on helping diverse, underserved, urban, and at-risk populations through employment at non-profit organizations. In 2019, she was promoted to the new position of Director of Integration and Innovations. Joe comes to ASC with over 30 years of experience in financial management work the non-profit area. He holds a BA in Criminal Justice and Economics from the Ohio State University and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame. Most recently Joe has worked at Legal Aid Service of Broward County and the Museum of Discovery and Science. In previous positions, he worked in the areas of performing arts, public radio, and even a circus. He has worked in New York City, Los Angeles and most recently Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Joe grew up in Ohio. Michelle Mitchell Brannon, a Seattle native, has been deeply ingrained in supporting her local community since childhood. She began her journey of service by feeding the unhoused and offering support to those in need. Raised amidst adversity, including homelessness and foster care, Michelle defied the odds. Becoming a mother at 14, she faced each challenge head-on, determined to create a better life for her family. Despite enduring abusive relationships and hardships, Michelle remained steadfast, raising her five sons with unwavering love and guidance. Today, she stands as a pillar of strength, serving her community as a Director of Youth Development & Education Support at Atlantic Street Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting women, children, and families facing adversity. Michelle’s dedication to service and her unwavering commitment to her family inspire all who know her. Mei-Ling grew up in Seattle and continues to love the PNW. Believing strongly in social justice, Mei-Ling holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work from Seattle University and University of Washington respectively. In March 2014, Mei-Ling joined the Behavioral Health Program at ASC in a dual role as a Therapist and Group Facilitator. She later transitioned to full-time therapist, and in July of 2018 she took on the role of Internship Coordinator for the Behavioral Health Program. In December 2020, Mei-Ling was promoted to Director of Behavioral Health. Prior to her time at ASC, she worked with school-aged youth specializing in social-emotional growth and volunteered with Crisis Connections as a phone worker. Mei-Ling spent time as a Field Liaison for students in the MSW program at Seattle University, where she also served as an adjunct professor. Mei-Ling believes strongly in reducing the barriers to accessing mental health care. In her free time, Mei-Ling enjoys baking and spending time with her cat, Susan. Specializing in adults affected by domestic violence, Shwetha comes to ASC from New Zealand, where she earned her BSc/BA, MSc, and PGDip in Health Psychology at the University of Auckland. She is confident in advocating for her participants and identifying their barriers to care. She joined ASC in 2019 as to manage the brand new Domestic Violence Program. Previously, Shwetha has worked as a clinical consultant for Orion Health, and as a psychologist at East Tamaki Healthcare and Atlantis Healthcare. She has also served as a community liaison, led outreach activities to raise community awareness, and is a trainer in the Stanford Chronic Disease Self-Management Program. She is fluent in three foreign languages. Diesha has been in early childhood education ever since she started working for Head Start of Greater Dallas over 23 years ago and fell in love with working with small children. In 2000, she moved from Dallas to Seattle and worked for four years as the Center Manager of Head Start at the First A.M.E. Child and Family Center. In 2004, she was hired by ASC to pilot the ParentChild+ program (formerly Parent Child Home Program), and has been running the acclaimed program ever since.
