Ties to the community are incredibly important for youth as they grow into responsible, compassionate members of society. A strong sense of civic obligation to one’s community and neighborhood leads to strong bonds and relationships, hedging against gang activity, truancy, and other delinquent behavior. It also just feels good to give back to the community!
