Summer Academy has been one of our staple programs for over 40 years. For five to six weeks, we offer a curriculum consisting of reading, writing, math, and cultural enrichment activities for children entering grades 3rd through 9th. Students who attend Summer Academy receive: The program’s success is measured every year. Students who participated have shown marked improvement in reading, writing, math, and social skills, which they take with them into the following school year, and into successes throughout their lives. ELIGIBILITY: Funding gives priority to Seattle Public School students who come from high-need families and have completed second grade. Summer Academy serves youth up to grade 9. Summer Academy is funded through public and private grants, so it is free for all eligible participants. Applications open for Summer Academy 2025 will be available online Monday, March 31.
